MEET Antonio.
Antonio Di Marte
Growing up Italian, there’s no escaping food culture. Family gatherings as a child-centered around creating food together and enjoying and sharing it for the whole day. Most of these days felt like eternities.
Uncles, aunties, and cousins would gather on special days. Tomato bottling day, salami-making day, and the seasons would dictate the food. Castagne (chestnut season), fiche (fig) season.
The elders the Nonni would always look forward to these seasons and the bounty they bring from their backyard garden which they worked on constantly every day.
I still remember the richness of Nonna’s pasta sauces and fresh pasta and the baking of biscuits and cakes with her after school.
Queen Street Italian is a place for me to share my family traditions and food and also share the rich 30 years of restaurant and hospitality experience I’ve accomplished all stemming from my family brought to the table for you to enjoy.
Prego!
